Spartan Culture

Spartan Basketball is devoted to forming an exceptional, team-first environment. Our coaches all ascribe to the Spartan Coaching Model, which places enormous importance on competitive excellence, the development of each player's skillset, and the wholistic support of each team. 

Spartan Coaches: At the heart of any excellent program, are great coaches. Spartan coaches are driven by the relationships they form, the desire to push players to great play, and the opportunity to invest in each athlete in our program. We insist that each coach is an experienced player and coach, who is surrounded by a network of mentoring coaches and training opportunities. Each coach is background checked, USA Gold certified, and overseen by SSF's basketball committee. In this model of a positive coaching community, SSF intentionally fosters teams that form lifelong bonds, while developing athletes who compete at their highest level.

Spartan Parents: Parents are a crucial part of the team in Spartan Basketball. By joining an SSF team, parents are committing to the positive coaching model, where communication is constructive, our fan base acts respectably in games and players know they can come home to supportive parents. This kind of environment sets up young athletes to develop their skills and character.

Spartan Players: We believe that sport provides a unique opportunity to set athletes up with skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Every drill is taught with the mindset of stewarding the platform we are given to instruct these youth in a manner that builds young men and women of character.

• Players will learn to sharpen their skills by competing to win against top competition from the region.
• Players will develop mental toughness by overcoming challenges on the court.
• Players will acquire a sense of service by putting team goals above their own and being invited to serve their broader community.
